Modus Operandi

We don't use that phrase very often. Most of us are more familiar with the acronym M.O. from the police procedural shows in TV. "Yes, that is that serial killer's M.O. all right. Put out a BOLO on him." However, I used the whole words of modus operandi in the title because it sounds like the alliteration I used in today's CoV.
After the rulings from SCOTUS on Monday and Thursday, I wanted to comment on them in my comic, but in my own way, of course. BTW, this is CoV #758. How many can you remember? I think maybe 5-6 for me.

Before I forget, though, IT'S FRIDAY!! Yeah, baby. Getting through today means getting to the weekend. No, it won't feel any cooler. No, I don't really have big plans. More importantly, No, I won't have to get up for work for the next two days. We do have to get up for nursery duty at church on Sunday, though.

Molly is coming over today to spend the weekend with us. And the GRANDS are spending Sunday night with us while their parents take a quick anniversary trip. Good for them, and good for us, too, since we get all three grandkids.

Why didn't someone remind me to set the aerator on the pool to cool it off? Does it have to be a SCOTUS ruling before you people talk about things? Good grief.

Those stinking report numbers still elude me. Part of the problem is that the totals and information are all dynamic, so today's numbers could differ from Monday's. The boss explained it this way, "This is still manually created though we are working on getting some of the new information into PPM to be able to automate the pull of this data; no ETA as of yet."

I notice your eyes drooping as you fall asleep. I suppose I have been droning on. Sorry about that. I've said enough, anyway. Have a good weekend.

Keep On Keeping On

That is exactly what Mom is doing. Her recovery seems nothing short of miraculous. She is walking so well that we are considering our annual Fall trip, which I had given up as impossible. Let's all keep praying that this healing will continue.

While we were at the hospital with Mom, no one ever said "Don't have a cow" while we worried over the surgery and then the recovery. They could have, though. Of course, what would I have done BFF, my Bovine Fine Friend?

JV+KLIK came over for a swim and dinner last night. And G+G (Grandmom and Granddad) came by for a while, too. We all had a great visit. The pool is a little to warm, so I need to remember to turn on the aerator tonight to cool it a bit. No wonder, since we should reach 112° or 113° today.

My cardiologist said I am taking care of myself right now and does not need to see me for 12 months. Whoo hoo. That's good news.

As you can imagine, the news media is predicting dire things in AZ after the SCOTUS (Supreme Court) upheld parts of SB1070, the immigration reform law. Yeah, there is certainly the opportunity for profiling, but I expect the police to be careful to avoid lawsuits. And today, SCOTUS will be ruling on Obamacare. I think they will rule that parts of are unconstitutional. Does anyone remember the drama about SCOTUS called First Monday starring Joe Mantegna? I liked it. I thought they had some interesting discussions about the actual issues and (probably) the backstage drama around releasing a ruling.

OK, enough fun. It's time to work. Yes, even you retirees that are building me a wall for enclosing the laundry area. We can discuss SCOTUS and POTUS and anything else OTUS you want tomorrow.

AZ is Not The 100% Opposite of NZ

Did you notice that Lindsay, our NZ CPA, commented yesterday, bragging about weather? So, I was thinking about the differences and, even though we are in opposite hemispheres with opposite seasons, there are still some similarities. It is summer here, winter there. Opposite. However, neither of us can sit outside for too long in this season's temps. Similar. In the winter, Auckland rarely gets snow (last year was the first since 1939), and the Valley rarely gets snow, either. Similar. Well, you get the picture. Still being in the 50s right now does sound pretty awesome.

Speaking of family, today's CoV has nothing to do with family. In fact, it came to me because of my own eyebrows needing trimming periodically.

Yes, I did make it to Chorale practice last night. On Sunday, when I missed the concert, I also missed a chance to direct the chorale. The director publicly thanked his two fill-in directors and was going to have us each conduct a song, but I was not there. The other guy got his directorial debut. Oh well.

I have to go see my cardiologist today. And I am just a couple of months away from my annual visit to my oncologist. Come on. Getting old definitely has its drawbacks, doesn't it? I seem to be piling on more and more medical specialists. If it reaches the point of a different doctor visit everyday, that's just too much.

I may be getting older, but I am still working for a living. So, I had better perform some value-add so I can keep on working. If you are lucky, I will have more to say tomorrow. You can choose to read it or not. The question is...do you feel lucky, punk? Well, do ya?

How Hot Is It?

It seems to be a sweltering summer this year across the country. The desert Southwest does not have a mono[poly on discomfort, even if it IS a dry heat. So, I wondered about the consequences if the forecaster accidentally added an extra digit to the forecasted high for the day.

Well, it's not that hot, but I see even Dallas and its higher humidity will be up around 105° today. Whew!

My vertigo did not return yesterday, so I am thankful for that. I don't know what caused it on Saturday, but whatever it is, I won't do it again.

We watched Hell's Kitchen last night because I had not yet reached my weekly quota of swear words. I have now already exceeded it. Speaking of which, did you hear about the new law in Middleborough, MA, outlawing swear words? I considered a CoV today that would highlight a neighboring town that would require every sentence to contain a swear word just to balance the average profanity level of the state. What do you think? Does that sound kinda funny?

How can people drink coffee right now? Doesn't that make them even warmer? I remember a friend in Malaysia saying you should drink hot beverages to cool off because the drink would warm you up and the sweat would then make you feel cooler. I did not agree and now, it seems I may have been right.

I did not talk to Mom yesterday. My bad.

Guess what? My self-assigned time limit for my daily post has run out. that's right. the meter shows no time left and I do not have any more self-assigned quarters. So, I will drive off and leave you behind to save my place until tomorrow. L8r.

I'm So Dizzy, My Head is Spinning....

We went to see Brave with KLIK this weekend. As I wrote that, sentence, I said the movie title, Brave, in my horrible Scottish accent. So, it sounds more like Brehve. Can you hear it? It doesn't matter. It sounds decidedly unScottish. Personally, I thought the movie was cute and I give it 3 sneakers out of 5. The GRANDS, though, thought "It was hiLARious!"

As the movie ended and we got up to leave, I found that I could not walk a straight line. I sat back down for a moment, guessing that I had stood up too quickly. When I stood a second time, I was better, but still not at 100%. We were headed over to JV+KLIK's place for an evening of food and games, so I rested a bit there and felt better. However, I was still not fully well yesterday and ended up missing church and a Chorale concert because of it. When I got up today, I was not dizzy, so maybe it was heat? Maybe dehydration? Maybe it really was standing up too fast? I don't know.

So, after suffering from vertigo, what came to mind?

We are working to finalize our choices of fixtures, colors, tile, etc. for the bathroom remodel. I think we will not have it finished before school starts and the three of us are fighting over a single shower, but if we don't get started, it'll be Christmas before we get it done.

It's a Monday and that always means a crazy morning as I prepare all the data for the management review. So, let's get busy.

Is it Swam or Swum?

We had a little get-together with JV+KLIK last night and the two dads and the two granddaughters all swam. Everyone else had other jobs to do such as baby watching and bathroom conceptualizing. Pizza for dinner and homemade (thanks, Bella) Rice Krispie treats for dessert.

There weren't that many of us there, but the kitchen area still filled up. Certainly, there were not this many people in the house....

I did not speak to the folks yesterday, but all the girls and Jack swang (swung?) by and visited a few minutes. It seems Mom is continuing her miraculous healing. This is truly a blessing and I am so glad they went ahead with the surgery.

What are your plans for the weekend? Yeah, I don't know what ours are, either. Maybe a movie. Speaking of movies, do any of you plan to catch Abraham Lincoln, Vampire Hunter? I hope to, although maybe not this weekend. Yes, I did hear the radio dude say he gives it 1.5 out of 5 stars. I don't care. I do have a couple of Chorale concerts on Sunday. I suppose I will drive myself since Mom and Dad are not participating right now during her recuperation.

It has been a busy week at work, but for me, that helps the week pass more quickly. Now, I just hope the weekend does not pass as quickly. Whether it does or does not, I will be back Monday with more merriment.

Good, Bad, and Other News

PTL! Mom continues to do well in her rehabilitation. Dad said the physical therapist came by and gave a few pointers on how he can help Mom do the right things, but said she is already doing very well. She walks several times a day and seems in good spirits. Only God knows how long she had been struggling with the slipped disc.

And only God knows why I can hear a report on the radio that is distressing news and make a comic out of it. Yes, AZ is #1 in teen binge drinking. That is a sad statistic. Not too sad, though, for me to put my spin on the story.

JV+KLIK are coming over tonight. Some of us will swim, some of us will shop for bathroom ideas and colors, and some of us will lay around in a car seat. I will let you decide which of us will do each. Some of us will eat pizza, some will stay healthy with a salad, and some will have a bottle. Again, you can guess which will do each of those.

We are all trying to stay consistent in our gym exercise routines. I think this excessive heat really makes it difficult to want to sweat even more. We are doing well, though, after a few weeks of other things diverting us.

We continue to export data out of the system and into Excel for better reporting capabilities. That means, of course, that some of it can get out of sync. For me, that means a lot of manual comparisons to ensure we are giving leadership the most accurate data relative to their questions. And since my boss wants to send out the final version of one of them today, I need to finish my analysis and corrections. So, you can analyze today's post while I analyze today's data. I'll be back tomorrow with more hijinks and hilarity.

Another Day, Another $3.47 Per Gallon of Gas

While the title says it all, it doesn't really say it all. Well, I mean, while we are paying almost $3.50 per gallon of gas, the price has been going down for several weeks. So, I for one will take that over increasing prices.

Mom seems to be doing great in her recuperation. Dad said she is walking a lot and even tied her shoes yesterday, which is a huge no-no after back surgery. No BLT, right(bending, lifting, twisting)? Anyway, it does show remarkable recovery so far.

However, if Star Trek is any indication of things to come, she should not wear a red shirt (Google it if you don't know what I am talking about...and shame on you).

I really was not excited to direct the Chorale at practice last night, but I ended up having fun (as I usually do when I direct). There were a couple of songs that I needed to whomp them upside the head about song rhythms, but there is only so much time you can spend on each song. So, I need to drop Bruce a note about places I think he should work when he returns next week.

I saw the GRANDS for just a few minutes last night and they will be back for swimming tomorrow night. Whoo hoo. While we swim, Lyndsay and my girls will head out for some bathroom remodeling decisions and colors and fixtures and all the other things we want Lynds to help us with. Whoo to the hoo for that, too.

I am hearing sad cries from Microsoft Excel, wanting me to return and do some data analysis. That is just too sad, so I will go give the app some attention. Have a good day.

One addition. After I published my post, I saw this.

Mom IS Home

Yes, Mom was able to go home yesterday afternoon. They had to wait for a final doctor approval, but it came through and they got home at around 5:30pm. I have not spoken with them this morning (still a little early), but did not hear anything bad last night.

We are having a pot-luck today and our VP is going to take our questions. She is based out of San Francisco, so we don't see her every week. At the moment, I do not have a question ready. I should probably think of at least one I can ask. I brought chips and dip.

One thing project managers do is ask questions of their team members. We do have team members assigned to work with us, but what if they decided to subcontract out their work?

Hey, this is CoV #750. Wow. You would think that, after all this time, they would have gotten funnier, right? Sorry.

Do you follow polls? The ones we hear most now have to do with Obama vs Romney, but there are non-political ones still occurring. I heard that PHX rates as the 10th least-liked city to live in. It tied with New Orleans. NYC took the top spot of least-liked places to live, although it also ranked #1 on most coveted place to live. Rounding out the top 10 are Dallas, Houston, LA, SF, Chicago, Detroit, and Miami.

I just got the results of your poll and I see you all think it is time to end today's post. I know there is some margin of error, but I get your message. We'll visit again tomorrow.

Walking With a Walker

Mom's recovery from her surgery last Friday is nothing short of miraculous. They fused the L4-L5 vertebrae at about 4pm on Friday. By 7:30am on Saturday, they had her do her first walking with a walker and she went some 15 yards. She sat up in a chair during our entire visit yesterday afternoon. Last night, after we left, she was ready to walk and did not even wait on the therapist, walking around the perimeter of the floor with her walker. They are still planning to release her today to go home. PTL!

And staying with her at the hospital through all of this is Dad. This was the perfect time for Father's Day to fall, since we all look up to him as a great role model on fatherhood. We gave him a Kindle Fire for Father's Day, but I think, so far, only I have played with it. Thanks for Carey for ordering it for us.

Speaking of tablet computers...

Speaking of grandkids and things happy, Happy Anniversary to K and L of JV+KLIK. It is their seventh wedding anniversary.

On the radio this morning, they said we should reach 113F by Wednesday, but cool down to 110F by Saturday. I suppose I should look forward to the cooler weather this weekend, huh? We are only at 18% humidity, so that helps.

I have begun a clean up effort at the office. Remember that I told you that I had cleaned the top of my armoire while KHW was out of town? Well, I am doing the same type of cleaning at work and you can actually see some of the desktop. Not all of it. Not yet. I would say maybe 25%, but that is 100% more than you could see last week. I kind of organize using piles instead of folders and drawers.

It is Monday, and that means a flurry of reporting needs. Or perhaps plethora would better describe it? Ah, who cares? I've got a bunch of work and little time. We'll get back together for Tuesday Talk.

Sara's Surgery's Soon

Today's alliterative title reminds us that Mom has surgery today at 1pm PHX time. Please remember to pray for her safety during the surgery, her recovery afterward, and the attention and skill of the medical staff.

Surgery is not cheap, for us or even for the insurance companies. Of course, for people who support fund raisers for political parties, they don't worry about a few thousand here or there.

We are planning to go to the movies tomorrow. I am not sure which movie we will go to. One or two weeks ago, we saw The Avengers and really enjoyed it.

No, I have not done any ceiling scraping in the garage to remove the popcorn finish so we can put up a new wall. I expect Dad will be plenty busy helping Mom for the next few weeks, so I have plenty of time. I will probably save it for Sat and Sun mornings when it is cooler.

What about that report I had to generate? I released the information, but now I question its veracity. So, I am plowing through all the source material to check which version is accurate. That is what happens when there is more than one source of truth.

I need to get some stuff done before I go to the hospital to stay with Dad during the surgery. I'll give you a status update next Monday.

Happy B-Day, Son

Of course, I remember what today is. It's Flag Day in the US. OK, it's more than that. It is our son's birthday. So, he gets his own Clarity of Vision. How many of you can say that?
And you know by now that getting your own comic is not always a good thing.

I just read this article and found that one of my cars is among the 10 worst of all time. How many of you can say that?

I sure could use a donut this morning. How many of you can say that?

Hey, I did get the report out for the VP the other day, but my numbers do not match the numbers of another team member. So, today I need to investigate and make sure that next week's report is one that both of us can justify.

We are heading towards 112F by next Tuesday. Still, I think I would rather face that than the heat+humidity of Dallas and the huge hailstones they got this week. My S-I-L (sister-in-law) posted a photo on Facebook of her car window with a huge hole in it from a hailstone.

On my calendar for today: "Yeah, Spidey and the flag. He really is a great American or represents a great American who's not real." director Sam Raimi, referring to Spiderman.

Mom's spinal surgery is still on schedule for tomorrow afternoon, so get your knee limbered up for praying.

Are you curious about the report numbers? Me, too, so I want to get going on my research. Be sure and research what I will say in tomorrow's post.

Summer Weather Report: Hot, Really Hot, Surface-of-the-Sun Hot

Actually, today will only reach 107F, but our humidity is low enough that it is not as uncomfortable as Dallas at 100F. This is the time of year when we get paid back for only reaching the 60s during the winter. Since it lasts into (and sometimes, through) September, it is a long time before we get relief.

So, we swim or, more likely, sit inside and watch TV. Speaking of TV...

I really struggled to create a CoV today. Go check out my CoV blog to read about what I tried to do first and how I ended up with this comic.

This also explains why I cannot think of things to share today. My pool of creativity seems to have dried up. Plus, I have not taken time to swim lately. Plus, I haven't taken time to exercise in almost three weeks. Plus, the new CIO has a number of reporting needs that have kept me really busy at work. Whaa! Whaaaaaa! I sound like Lucy Ricardo.

So, you can leave early today. Maybe I'll be back to normal tomorrow. Well, normal for me, that is.

Home Depot Is My Friend

I searched the web and cannot find a piece of Home Depot trivia that Dad told me yesterday. So, I can neither confirm nor deny the veracity of the following HD history. We have a set of shelves hung in the garage that will need to move as we enclose our laundry area. They are hung using brackets purchased at Angel hardware. Dad said they had those back in TX and that Home Depot bought them out years and years ago. So, we have some hardware history hanging in our home. Very alliterative sentence, right? BTW, I need to scrape off some popcorn from the ceiling where the walls for the laundry area connect. I will do a little each day...I think.

Speaking of home improvement, let's talk about toilets.

Speaking of toilets, let's talk about work. I need to do a special pull of key data for the VP this morning. When my boss and I talked about it yesterday, I could not think of an effective way to grab the data, but this morning, I think I may have a way. If I pull all the Proposals and grab the Original Requester name, and pull all the open Projects and include the Senior Executive name, I think I can link them by the Request ID and join the data in the SQL statement. What do you think? I will try it after we finish.

Mom's surgery is still a GO for Friday afternoon at 3pm PHX time. So, y'all can pray for success in the surgery and for her spirit during the following three months of rehabilitation.

I will be leading several songs in Chorale practice next week. The director will be in a seminar in LA, so I share conducting duties with another Chorale member. Hopefully, I will be over this nagging cough.

OK, ready to go try that SQL join? Me, too. If it doesn't work, well, that'll be a pain. It could make me angry. And you wouldn't like me when I'm angry. Ha ha. Hulk reference. OK, enough. Bye.

The Passing of Polly Esther

Oh, Polly Esther. You were such a big thing in the 60s and 70s. What happened to you? You used to live a life of leisure. You expanded your horizons and stretched our lives. Does anyone even know you anymore? Well, maybe this guy still thinks fondly of you.

Yes, I did paint our bedroom this past week while my better half was out of town. I hung some different photos, purchased new bedding and rugs. The bedroom went from a light green to a pale gray (maybe closer to a light blue-gray). Anyway, they got back home last night and she did ask, "Who helped you?" I can't blame her. It came out much better than I would have guessed I could do. Lyndsay did suggest a light blue or gray. Thanks, Lynds.

I am paying the price today, though. I am feeling sore after moving all the furniture out, painting, and the moving the furniture back in. And yesterday, I cleaned our garage so Dad can start work enclosing the laundry area. It did get some good exercise, though.

I did struggle getting up this morning. It was worth it, though. I will try to remember to post a photo tomorrow.

As you probably know by now, I have a lot of reporting and investigations I must complete this morning. So, I will leave you to explore on your own for the rest of the day. Don't get lost. The internet is a big place.

Another Week Has Passed

It's Friiiiidaaaay! Whoo hoo. We've made it through another week, my friends. I mean, I felt like we would, but now that we have arrived, it's nice. Well, after a few hours at the office, it will be nicer. We've made it through all five days of the workweek.

Speaking of five....

Are you drinking enough water? Check that when you go to the bathroom, it is clear or light yellow. If it is dark, you are somewhat dehydrated. The office here supplies bottled water, so I drink more than when I get home and don't think about it. We should only reach 105F today, so a bit of a cool down, but still quite warm. So, I will go refill my bottle now while I am thinking about it. LWW, maybe you drink less to get hydrated since you are down under?

JV+KLIK's dog had messed her crate yesterday, so I had to wash it out and launder the blankets she uses. Poor thing had to wait until I got home to get out of it.

The crew comes back home on Sunday. Whoo hoo. True, I get to watch my shows on TV with no interruptions, but it is quiet and lonely.

My report testing progresses at work. The programmer is very responsive to the findings and has a new version ready this morning. Great, since this is my #1 priority right now. So, let's go ahead and test his fixes. I want to end this before I leave, though, so I will. The end.

Homemade Laundry Room

I have engaged the famous architect and building firm dwalker235 to find a way to convert part of our garage into a laundry room. They are working on the plan now but have already sketched out the initial design. The only risky part is pulling cooled air from the den. If the room is insulated enough, though, it could work. We'll see how it looks when their super-employee gets back to me.

Speaking of super-employees....

It sounds like the crew is having a good time at Disneyland. Kendall got sick yesterday, but was feeling better last night. Phyllis heads out tomorrow, so I need to get a phone charger to her before she leaves so Kathie can charge her phone. In the old days, we had to use walkie-talkies to find each other in places like that. Now, we all just use our cell phones. I guess walkie-talkies will be the next thing that Lindsay and the other youngsters don't remember (like the phone booths I mentioned the other day).

I finally got the report draft from the programmer and will be testing it today. I've already seen a couple of issues and I have only run it once. At least I have a version to test.

It sounds like Dallas had some ugly weather overnight. So, as I am often reminded, facing high temps is not the worst weather problem we could face. We don't have tornadoes, hurricanes, or tsunamis, but we do have 30+ days of 110+ temps.

Let's all go test our report solutions, OK. I know mine will not pass all tests since I have already seen he did not pull a summary field that I mentioned in my last test plan. Oh well.

They Arrived Safe and Sound

The family arrived safely in The Dis yesterday. When I spoke to them at 10pm, they were out on a ride and planning to stay until the park closed at 12am. As far as arriving sound? Well, with three kids, you can be sure there was plenty of sound.

Speaking of kids....

I tried to sing in the Chorale concert last night, but was not totally successful. That nagging cough nagged and coughed. So, I had to back off and either sing very softly or not at all on some songs.

Only a single meeting today, but quite a long list of action items, including documenting action items from Monday.

JV+KLIK's dog is being well behaved. The only issue is that, when they are together, our dog and theirs have barking contests and it is noisy.

OK, I need to make a call early this morning, so I am going over to the phone booth. Speaking of things that our grandkids will not understand, the phone booth is one of those now-obsolete items, isn't it? Since we all have cell phones, there are few pay phones left. Hey, gotta go.

Happy B-Day to my Beloved Better Half

The rest of the family is on their way to Disneyland right now. Let me tell you, that has become even more expensive this year as they raise their prices. However, it is a nice way to spend your birthday and you get a special pin and all the workers wish you a Happy Birthday. It is fun. So, Happy Birthday, Dear.

Speaking of birthday at Dis....

I'll be here holding down the fort. By fort, I mean the house plus JV+KLIK's dog. By holding down, I mean sweating it out in the low 100's while they play in LA in the low 80's.

I am working with a dude at work to generate a new report for the CIO. However, my role is simply the design. Now, I am waiting on him for the actual report program. He promised it by Saturday, and now thinks he could have a version by tomorrow. And now, the team managers in my area want additional changes. I do not see this ending happily for a while.

What else? I will join the Chorale for a concert tonight even though I still have a bit of a cough and congestion. I can at least stand up there and smile, though. Why not, since my wife is at The Dis?

Well, even though I do not have the report to review and test, I do occasionally have other tasks to complete. I will get those started. Don't you have some place to be?

Almost A Birthday

My daughter-in-law gave my wife a birthday card this weekend based on my CoV strip. The birthday is actually tomorrow, but the get-together was Saturday afternoon. The card was funny and included a number of my wife's famous funny comments. I would have shared that actual strip, but it is only funny within the family where we remember when some of the events occurred. So, instead, I decided to thank my D-I-L with a strip about creating the CoV-based card.

You know, getting up early for work seems a lot harder when everyone else in the household is a teacher and is sleeping in during the summer. Today, though, the dog needed to go out just around normal getting-up time, so it made it a little easier.

This stinking cough and congestion just will not let me go. True, there is still a lot of airborne pollution, but I just don't know what is going on. Even so, we have a Chorale concert tomorrow night, so I will go and see if I can sing. "Doctor, will I be able to sing? Yes, you should. That's great. I never could sing before." Ha ha.

We are enjoying our salt-water pool a lot. It does somehow seem nicer without the more heavily chlorinated smell of a normal pool. We did not get in last night, though. But every other night since last Thursday, we have enjoyed it.

Of course, on Mondays, I have an information package I have to prepare, so I will get a jump on that. Then maybe tonight, I'll get a jump in my pool. Ha ha. Clever the way I tied jump in the earlier sentence to jump in the pool? Maybe I can put that in a CoV and be as funny as Lyndsay? No, probably not. Anyway, we'll visit again on my wife's b-day.

The Slumber Party Arrived Early

The GRANDS spent the night last night. By the time I got home from work, they were getting out of the pool after having swam for almost three hours. So, not too long after dinner, they were all exhausted, including my wife. And they were still sleeping when I left this morning. However, since Kyle and Lynds still have Bible study tonight, I will see them again when I get home. And since the forecast is for 112F today, I would bet they do not spend the afternoon in the pool, so I will interact with them a little more today.

They did get a bath after swimming yesterday, although since we now have a salt-water pool, there was no chlorine smell to rinse off. And they left the bathroom fairly clean, not like the Men's Room here on my floor at work. Well, read this....

Speaking of hot, it is fairly warm at my desk already, and the afternoon temp is really toasty. I wonder if they have the A/C adjusted correctly? Probably, some people don't mind the temp since, as we have discussed before, they keep their houses much warmer than I do.

Dad and I calculate that Brenda is expecting his thirteenth great-grandchild. And he said he has twelve grandchildren. That is a mess of kinfolk, right?

I think we are going to see The Avengers tomorrow. Cool. I have heard good things about it. I have also heard that I need to stay all the way until the very end of the credits. As far as eating, I don't know if we will catch brunch beforehand and lunch afterward. It might depend on if there is an early enough showing that makes brunch impractical.

Hey, this looks like a lot of words already, so I will end it and start my Friday. Have a good weekend. Keep cool. Stay hydrated. Be safe until we meet again.
