The Front Fell Off

Craig, this is truly worthy of a Monty Python skit. Of course, if that were the case, we would laugh because it couldn't be true. Instead, I cracked up because they both kept a straight face throughout.

Talk About Lazy

First, let me say that substituting for the PE Teacher is no fun, even if it only got to 70 degrees. I think I'll be busy already before April or May. Whew!

Hey, how about some more shots from the Highland Games? No? Well, too bad.

Oh, come on, guys. Can't you play your own bagpipes? What is up? Maybe that's how y'all teach each other songs. "OK, you blow and watch my fingers."

Ah, I guess they got the idea from this dude. In the middle of the Wicked Tinkers set, he asked them to come up and help him. Too tiring, I suppose. Sure, let's see him try to teach PE in Phoenix in the summer.

Then the worst food service accident I've ever seen. She couldn't even stop long enough to pull the tongs out of her skull, much less the knife in her husband's head. I was glad she still had enough wits about her to serve us our lunch.

Check this one out. The athletes were trying to get the dude with the walker to toss their caber for them. Talk about the height of laziness.

Publishing Photos of Paris, a Player and a Pole

Kathie and I got away last weekend for one night in Las Vegas. This was our first time to see the Bellagio fountains. They are too cool. Here is a shot of them with the Paris Eiffel Tower in the background. They play in time to music. Our favorite one was a Frank Sinatra song.

We also saw Pete Rose signing autographs at a store...maybe inside Caesar's Palace. It is not as cool as Kyle and Lyndsay seeing Harrison Ford and family at Disneyland, but at least I have a photo.

Yesterday, we made our annual trek to the Phoenix Scottish Highland Games. Here is a shot of a dude moving a telephone pole so there would be more room for the athletic events. The announcer called the "atheletic" games, but I am pretty sure that is not how you say it. Actually, the pole is called a caber, is around 12 feet long, and weighs 112 pounds. The dude has to throw it such that it turns end over end and is rated by how close it lands to 12 o'clock compared to where his body was when he launched it. I don't think this guy got it to flip, so he got no points for this throw.

Did You Miss Me?

Where have I been? I don't know. It seems like just last week that I blogged. Oh yeah, it was. I've been doing some substitute teaching, some classwork, and job applying. I do have some pictures I haven't shared. Let's go.

We were over at the folks the other day and Bella decided Granddad needed to read some Mickey Mouse to her. I am not sure who seems to be enjoying it more.

Here is a cute picture. I think Grandmom went to kiss a sleeping great-granddaughter and fell asleep herself. What do you think? Or maybe she's praying over her. That is always welcome.

Granddad with two of his great-granddaughters. Here, Isabella is hugging Kendall.

This should bring back memories for most of my readers. These are the same toys that most of you (including our kids) played with over at the grandparents house. It's fun. You can see Kyle is down there playing with them even now.

Is there a bond stronger that a mom for her children? Here, Kendall rewards Lyndsay with a precious smile. I came over just in time for this picture, so I might have missed that this is actually Kendall doing a magic trick for her mom and saying "Nothing up my sleeve."

Aging Software

No, this is not about the older version of various software products on my iMac. It refers to software that ages kids (or adults) to see what they will look like in the future. Well, I thought I would take my own shot at Kendall. Do you think she will look a lot like Isabella in the future? You decide.

Also, I checked on the emailing of posted info via Feedburner. It seems it only happens during a specified two hour period and the one that I set was too late to catch last night's posting. We'll see if this one works tonight.

Notification of No Bella Photos

So, I went and added the ability for you to know when I update, and then I don't update anymore. I went over a week since my last post. Sorry.

Lyndsay's grandmother had a heart attack last night. She is resting well, but of course, the family is nervous. So, Lyndsay's mom wanted to stay with her at the hospital, so we had Isabella and Kendall for the night (Kyle and Lyndsay were away at Disneyland). They did well and just left to go home with Mommy and Daddy.

Here is Kendall's haul from her folks.

I had my first test last Thursday night in my Java class. I think I missed one-half of one question (and it is worth 64 points out of the 1000 for the course). The grades aren't posted yet.

Photo counts: Bella - 1370, Kendall - 208. This visit yielded 2 of Bella and 15 of Kendall.

Here is a photo of Kendall smiling at Pops tonight. Can anything make a grandfather's heart swell more?

There are still some WEBNETters that have not added the email notification option. Of course, there are some members who haven't updated in a while, either. Hello?!? Is there anybody out there?

Hey, look left! Right now!

Do you see it? You can get an email when I update my blog. If everyone can add this code to their blog, we can always know when someone updates.
