Well, we *did* go over to see Isabella.

We got Arby's for dinner and...wait for it...got chicken. Sort of makes you wonder what we get when we go to KFC, doesn't it? Some of us did get roast beef, actually. But otherwise, the joke would not have played as well.

A Day Without Bella Is Like A Day...

Well, I decided not to finish the quote in the title. After all, we hardly know what a day without sunshine looks like. Still, it looks like a no-Bella day. Sigh. Notice the picture to the left of this paragraph. Oh, that's right. No picture today. Sigh again.

OK, someone asked why go to LJS for chicken. Fair question. Some of us wanted fish and some chicken. Plus, it's between our place and theirs. Plus, they had already eaten KFC during the week. Plus, I had a coupon. Hmm. I'm out of pluses.

No, I have not finished my taxes yet. I need to go dig up the interest numbers, etc. I did enter the W2 info. Hey, I've still got three weeks.

We just saw V for Vendetta and enjoyed it. You can definitely tell it is made by the Wachowski brothers that made Matrix. A very similar feel. Very stylistic. And the bad/good guy is played by the main baddie from Matrix, Hugo Weaving.

I Will Sell No Whine Before It's Time

OK. Whine time is over. I had dinner over at Bella's place. Took a couple of pictures.

Oh wait. Stupid LJS. Long John Silvers. Gave me all fish when I ordered all chicken. True, it all looks the same from the outside. Still.

I came home at a decent hour today.

I need to finish my taxes. Yes, I still gotta do this, even after watching Oprah for 8-1/2 months.

Withdrawal

No visits and no pictures since Sunday afternoon. You know what I'm talking about. Kathie ate with them last night, but I was stuck at work until 10:30pm. Long day. I missed chorale practice. Boo hoo. Hey! It's my blog and I'll whine if I want to. Whine if I want to. You would whine, too, if it happened to you.

Another Day...Another Photo

Isabella's great-grandparents came by to see her on Sunday. Both sets of batteries died, so I am just now uploading them. Sorry for the delay. I know you were all wondering what could have happened. We all went by after eating out for their 53rd wedding anniversary.

More photos in Flickr. You can click on the Flickr window See More.. button on the right to go in and see more.

Post Number 3...In One Day

Here are some photos. I'll post more over in Kyle's blog...

Well, only one will load right now. No, Kathie's not mad. She's contemplating how she can finagle time off to help with her new granddaughter. I'll see what I can do about more photos later.

OK, I put them up on Flickr. Check out the link on the right.

Here's An Interesting Story

And it's not even about Bella....

Tresa Waggoner, 33, the music teacher in Bennett, Colo., invited Opera Colorado to perform a comic opera for students. She showed her students a 12-minute segment from a children's video she checked out of the school library, "Who's Afraid of Opera?", to introduce them to the concept. The segment included scenes from "Faust", which uses sock puppets to tell the story about how a man suffers when he sells his soul to the devil. Parents accused the teacher, a singer who has issued two Christian music albums, of being anti-Christian and a devil worshiper. "I think [the video] glorifies Satan in some way," said one parent. Waggoner was suspended, and the school board ruled that Waggoner would not be allowed to return to the classroom. It also canceled the opera performance. "Do we look like bumpkins?" asked a cringing Town Board member, Rich Pulliam. (Rocky Mountain News, Denver Post)

I read about it in This Is True. It's a nice, free weekly newsletter containing these types of stories. And it's written by a dude named Randy.

BTW (By The Way)

Don't forget to check Kyle's page. I placed some other pictures there.

So, I was expecting some comments on the dude in the background on one of the pictures. Thanks, Zachary, for not disappointing me. That is Lyndsay's brother, Casey. He has on a mask because he is sick, but wanted to see his niece. I don't think he's going to steal the baby.

I'll be seeing Bella later today, so more pics should be forthcoming. They are expecting to go home this afternoon while we are at a wedding of one of Kathie's teacher friends.

I'm heading over to the bank to deposit my first professional paycheck in 9 months. Yee Haw! I was going to say paycheck, but the church does pay me each week, so I changed it to professional.

Finally, she came out!

Yes, this morning at 2:43am, Isabella Camryn Walker decided it was time to make her grand appearance. She weighed 7 lb 10 oz and was 20-1/2 in long. She's precious. I can suddenly understand some of Denise's comments now. We held her some last night and Kathie was at the hospital most of today holding the little cutie. Then, she stopped holding Lyndsay and held Isabella.

They expect to go home tomorrow, and we've got a wedding to attend, so we'll see her next at their apartment. I'm talking about Bella, not Lyndsay.

I tried to blog this morning, but kept getting a server error message. And I do have pictures, but I also couldn't get into Flickr earlier. I'll try again now.

You Can't Win Them All

OK, so Susan's comment was correct. It was only 143 days without rain. The 160 I mentioned was a record from the 70's that we were closing in on.

You know, one of the bad things about Tivo is that you tape more, so you've got more to watch. Tonight, with all the rain, we are in doing some catchup TV watching. House right now. InJustice next, I think. Amazing race earlier, even though Carey had already told us who was eliminated...Oh stop it. I do *not* sound like whiny guy from Survivor.

Finally, I'm Coming Out!

Yup. It came out yesterday as to which groups I will be in charge of. Finally! So, I will be setting up a group meeting early next week. Now I can begin to really ask the tough questions and inspect the project documentation. Tomorrow's tough question will be "How do you spell Albuquerque"?

So, now the guy whose has been helping me has begun to pass on all the open issues and upcoming problems. Dirty dog. No, he is really a super nice guy. He leads a Young Life group for mentally challenged kids and spends his summer vacation in camps with them. He told me which church he attends, but I cannot remember. He has offered to retain a couple of smaller efforts to help me get established on the others.

Well, Mom and Dad looked for a songbook I wanted to use in our Easter musical, but no luck. Just as well, I might be asking for this choir to learn too many songs all at once. So, I'll take it back to only 7 songs.

They voted the astronaut out on Survivor. Regretable, but I think I agree he was the right choice from a game strategy standpoint. Why couldn't the team with "whiny guy"(tm) have lost the challenge and voted him out? Where is the justice in this game?

We are kind of hoping that Lyndsay delivers early while Kyle is free on Spring Break next week. That way, he can be there without missing school. And then, my beautiful wife and I will be grandparents.

Caleb, I bet there is someone who enjoys reading my posts, also. No, I meant besides myself!

All who saw the pictures from the Haiti trip. Take a look at Keith in the first few. It looks like he is trying to sneak up on the photographer. Really. Check out his body position and hands. He scares me, that's for sure.

160 since last rain in PHX. That may end this weekend. We hope so. Fewer allergies, lower fire danger, raise lake levels, don't have to wash my car.

One Week Down...

OK. I made it through this week. I probably know some stuff, but I still feel kinda lost. The announcement of what work efforts are mine is now scheduled for next Wednesday. At that point, it looks like I will have 15 people plus 3 personnel requisitions. Whew! I don't even know what systems exist yet and I'm already behind.

I think I need to finish my Easter music planning this weekend. I think I'm pretty close on the music side. Now, I just need to decide about narration or scriptures to tie the story together.

Man, I'm Tired

Whew! I *do* have a desk, computer and phone now. I don't know the phone number yet. I don't know my email address yet. I don't really know what to do yet. All I've done is attended status meetings so far. Anyway, it looks like I am an overseer of project managers and not a PM myself. OK, I can do that. It's not what I expected, but it is something I have done before.

So, I have come home tired every night. Last night was East Valley Chorale. Tonight was church choir practice. Tomorrow night is Survivor and pizza. I've still got to finish the choral arrangements for Easter Sunday. Man, I may have to quit this job to get some stuff done.

I think all 4.9 kids are OK. So are we.
