Today's Numbers Are 1942, 1946, 1996, 20, 30, and 10

How many of you remember 1942? Not the movie 1942 that bombed in the box office. No, I am actually talking about the year 1942. That was when this ad ran in Life Magazine.

This ad for Mor Processed Pork Meat from 1946 tells me that Spam wasn't the only processed meat product back in the old days. Would unwanted ads be called Mor if it had prevailed over Spam?

I found an interesting tumblr blog about newspaper blackouts, where they black out most words except those that create the art/poetry found inside an article. Here's one that I liked.

OK, one more.

I do have a couple of photos to share today from the reunion trip. We'll start with one while we were waiting to take a gondola over the mountain from Telluride to Mountain Village.

Interesting fact about the Telluride gondola system. It was built in 1996 and is the only free public transportation system of its kind. It is often referred to by locals as, “the best commute in the country”. I could see that. Anyway, this is its 20th year of operation.

While we were over in Mountain Village, we decided that, since it was a warm day, we should grab some ice cream before we left.

Before I left town, I saw this vision of the new world prospector, out on his quest to mine for memories. I hope you found some, old feller.

Didn't the way Preacher Bro was carrying his tripod remind you of old photos of prospectors with their picks? And the camera on his other shoulder reminded me of the gunny sacks of supplies they would carry.

Today's calendar entry is a great quote by Dallas Cowboys legend Emmitt Smith.
What happened tonight, the strength of the Patriots team got debacled.

Got a hankering for some cinnamon rolls this morning? Got 30 minutes? Got any crescent dough in the fridge? If you said yes to those questions, you are in luck. Here is a recipe for just such a breakfast. Less than 10 minutes prep and you are on your way. Will I make some? Hello. Do you know me? Don't let that stop you from trying it and letting the rest of us know. Here is a photo from the recipe to inspire you.

Got a hankering to get down to work? Me neither, but we've got to do it. Let's get Tuesday underway.
