I finally took a few minutes and played with my photos. Here are some shots from our few hours in Red River, NM.
As we drove between Colorado and New Mexico, we passed a memorial for Vietnam vets erected just southeast of Red River. A man's parents originally built it in memory of their sun, but now, the state has taken it over as a state park. It was very moving.
Here is a shot down the main street of Red River as we entered from the east. Surprisingly, from here, it looks much as it did 30+ years ago when we came every summer.
Now, there are a few differences from the past. One of them is a park built around the Red River. Here, Kathie, Mom and Dad are looking out from a small covered bridge (not quite as fancy as those up north).
We decided it was a good day for a picnic. Notice some of us wearing jackets...in June. You can tell they came up from Phoenix.
