Birthdays and Budgets Beat Me Up

As you saw in yesterday's Clarity of Vision, it was MBH's birthday. So, I wanted to bring her some flowers and chocolates (actually a Starbuck's gift card) early in the day. Once I got back, I was pulled into budget meetings instead of working on... you know... that project. So today, I am way behind on some tasks. Luckily, no one has stopped by the cube to talk. Well, not yet.

Then, last night, we had a nice b-day dinner with the kids and the folks. This place has most of its seating outdoors, but since it was 105F, we opted to select a table inside. Wouldn't you?

I get a daily email devotional, and today's made me say, "Whaaa?" OK, I didn't actually say it, but the effect was the same. Should we actually be talking about Good Wednesday instead of Good Friday? Read this and consider their argument.

Have you ever been to the Texas State Fair? Would you consider it to be the best of all the states? If you read this article, you can see what Yahoo! has to say.

Spending a bunch of money on laundry detergent. Maybe Consumer Reports can save you a bit.

You could save time by not reading today's CoV, but you would lose out on guffaws and giggles. Your choice.

If you are anything like me, you have been waiting for someone to release a countertop ice cream sandwich maker. Wait no longer, my friends.

Borrow $300, pay back $975? Great deal! NOT!!! Read about this payday loan company and the super-sneaky fine print.

Could that rain my weatherman is showing actually be bugs? That seems true in Albuquerque. That's too many for me.

My free time just disappeared. Have a great weekend and watch out for bugs.

Do you remember evangelist Rocky Freeman? He's the one from whom I first remember hearing this argument. It is compelling, but I'm afraid they may be making this more of a critical issue than is justified. If someone thinks it really was crucifixion on Friday and resurrection on sunday, does that mean he won't be saved? Yeah, that's pushing it too far.
Anyway, those are the thoughts from the Preacher Man.
