It's Pre-Most-Productive-Day-of-the-Week

Life now has to be back to normal. We just had a nice little anniversary trip to Flagstaff (cool weather), but today, everyone is back at work. Teachers are back to school today and the kids start next week. So, in case you wondered where this interesting and informative blog was the last few days, now you know. One day, we went on a little hike (4.2 miles) and MBH ended up with some ugly blisters. Ouch. She did well, though, and made it to the top. The middle section went through an aspen grove and it was really nice. Photos will be up soon. For today, though, we will start with some shots of our brunch place and the room before suitcases moved in. Well, actually, it is a sign on the wall of the brunch place showing that Guy Fieri has been there.

But these next really are what I said above.

In case you wondered, my current music counts are 12,917 songs from 1,137 artists, and from 1,038 albums. I found some CD that I had never uploaded yesterday, so those are now reflected in my totals. I have 1,750 of the songs on my smartphone. How many do you carry on your phone?

Let's look again at a couple of Bible stories as recounted by children.
Moses led the Hebrews to the Red Sea, where they made unleavened bread, which is bread made without any ingredients. The Egyptians were all drowned in the dessert. Afterwards, Moses went up on Mount Cyanide to get the Ten Amendments. The First Commandment was when Eve told Adam to eat the apple. The Fifth Commandment is to humor thy father and mother. The seventh Commandment is thou shalt not admit adultery.

Moses died before he ever reached Canada. Then Joshua led the Hebrews in the battle of Geritol. The greatest miracle in the Bible is when Joshua told his son to stand still and he obeyed him.

This morning's Bible verses were Zech 4:8-10, talking about Zerubbabel. However, what is curious about those verses is that they reminded me of a verse Bill Gothard used to quote in his seminars on Basic Youth Conflicts. He would exhort us to stay focused on the Lord because "For the eyes of the LORD move to and fro throughout the earth that He may strongly support those whose heart is completely His." 2 Chron 16:9. If you attended his weeklong seminars, I know you heard it more than once.

Here's the takeaway: If you have the chance, choosing a doughnut rather than eating nothing at all can jumpstart your metabolism and give your body the fuel it needs. But if you’re just not hungry in the a.m., don’t sweat it: There are some benefits to forgoing a morning meal as well. You can read all the details in the article. Why did I read it? Come on..the headline read "Is It Healthier to Skip Breakfast or Just Eat a Doughnut?" Wouldn't you be curious?

We did just get back from a mini-vacation. We did go hiking. However, we did not camp out. If we had, though, it sounds like the Thermo-Tent would have been the way to go. Why hasn't anyone offered insulated tents before? Well, the weight is certainly one factor.

Since I am back from a few days off...

You know what I really need to do? Get caught up on emails. Have a Marvelous Monday, my minions.
