Back to the Grind

Does 52 giga-pixels sound like a lot? It does to me. So, check out this photo and see how much you can zoom in. As you might imagine, it is a long way.

And if you are into images, here are seven search engines that might interest you. Here is one I found by searching for Colorado. I wondered where it was because I thought we might look for the interesting rock formations next time we are in Colorado. However, once I clicked the photo, I found out it is from a place in France called French Colorado. Oh well.

How was your Thanksgiving? Our was nice, but fairly quiet. We had the usual meal. Wild mushroom tamales, quinoa, nine grain salad. Oh, wait. That was what I had. Everyone else DID have the usual meal of turkey, sweet potato casserole, green bean casserole, dressing and cranberry sauce. On Friday night, we followed another tradition and attended ZooLights.

Here we are...

...watching on of the songs with synchronized lighting out over the lagoon.

I did not work on any new Clarity of Vision ideas over the holidays, and there are more holidays around the corner. So, at least for a couple of days, I am going back and redoing some classic strips. Today, let's revisit the very first one I wrote.

Every year, someone calculates the cost of all the items in Twelve Days of Christmas. This year is no exception, with the total reaching over $116,000. It looks like the biggest increase (percentage-wise) was in the six geese a-laying.

Today, Yahoo! has a story about winter being an amazing time to visit a national park. Have you ever done so? I don't think I have, at least not in the dead of winter. We did go to a park during Spring Break where there was still snow, and Dad and I crossed a fence to a closed overlook so I could grab a few photos. We got caught by a park ranger, but he escorted us back to the car and we did not get into trouble. What was the name of that park? It is probably listed in this list of all the US National Parks or maybe it was one of the US National Monuments.

Tired of quinoa? Try on of these pseudograins. I might. They are gluten-free and extremely high in protein, fiber, and low-glycemic carbohydrates.

It's a MOVIE. Still, some experts decided to evaluate Katniss Everdeen to see if she suffers from PTSD. What they determined was.... No, you'll have to read it yourself.

This is a nice little story about how Neil Young came to write his song Old Man.

Whew. Let's end now before you suffer from blog overload like you did with food on Thursday. We can visit again soon.
