Reasons to Look At Your Ugly Mug

French Toast in a mug? Why not? Isn't everything better in a mug?

Eggless eggnog in a mug? OK, but take out the French Toast first.

I have a challenge for you. Think of your favorite film and try to describe it badly. Not sure what that means? Well, you can and should read the article, but I will give you an example. "Illegal immigrant chased by the Feds." What movie is that? E. T. Try to top that.

Does this building look familiar? It is a century-old firehouse (actually, Hook and Ladder 8) in NYC. If you don't recognize it, it was used for the exterior shots in .... Let me just give you a hint. "Who ya gonna call?"

I remember some of these kitchen features from my in-laws kitchen. I remember more of them from old-time TV programs. It is a dining table in the 50's Prime Time Cafe at Disney World. That was a fun place with waitstaff that were rude and funny. We asked for straws and he grabbed a bunch and just threw them on our table. He sat down by the girls to take our order.

Here is a shot from while we were waiting to be seated. This was our first meal at WDW.

Here is a little water feature there in front of the restaurant.

And here I am trying different shutter speeds and f-stops, whatever all that means. You can see the water appearing more smooth as I make the aperture smaller so the shutter stays open longer.

Speaking of doing things with the family, we had a good time with ours this weekend. On Saturday, we attended a Children's Theater production of Virginia, There Is a Santa Claus, followed by a birthday celebration for GRAND#2. Then yesterday, she was baptized. PTL, right?

Immediately after the baptism, I hurried over to our final Chorale Christmas concert. I missed the first half, but got to participate for the seven songs in the second half. Singing with the orchestra is always fun.

In today's 365 Stupidest Things Ever Said calendar, I came across one that shows just how much we are taking Christ our of Christmas. It is an ad for Dillard's:
Dillard's 60% Christmas Sale!
From December 14–21, Dillard's will be having the largest sale of the year … Just in time for Christmas! There will be a special appearance by Satan between the hours of 5 pm until 9 pm for your kids!

Clever craft idea, anyone? Display the memories with your favorite traveler on a map featuring photos cut in the shape of each state. I like the idea of this and it could be made to work with different kinds of maps (for example, a map of a park at Disney World with photos from specific areas within the park).

Time for a scripted misunderstanding based on the 1970;s SNL skit of Emily Litella.

And we begin our last three weeks of 2015 today, with only 11 shopping days until Christmas. Are you ready? For most of us, you will have to get through a workday before you can go shopping. Maybe you can shop online during work, but you shouldn't. Make is a 'Mazing Monday.
