Did y'all notice that there is a little Bible verse display thingamabob on the left of my blog? Well, there is. Today's verse seemed so timely today on the day before I leave my job that I decided I had to share it with you.
Psalm 138:8 The LORD will fulfill His purpose for me; your love, O LORD, endures forever— do not abandon the works of your hands.
Nice, huh? The Lord is going to fulfill HIS purpose for me. And for each of you, too. Thanks for following my experiences here on A Legend In My Own Mind.
I've gone six days without posting a photo. Weird, at least for me. I'll have some new ones when I get back.
Hey, it could be a week before I get back to you. Then again, most of you will be experiencing the Legend in person. Brenda and those of you not coming, sorry we'll miss you in Ouray. I'll try to tone down my fun somewhat in remembrance of you.

All Even? That's Odd.
OK, I acknowledge that the family thinks I'm odd, but today's post is about upcoming even days.
Today - East Valley Chorale practice.
In 2 days - My first interview of my new job search. It is with US Airways HR.
In 4 days - We leave for Ouray, CO.
In 6 days - Isabella and her parents come up to Ouray.
In 8 days - Lyndsay is cooking for all 25 of us at the family reunion. Mmm, mmm, good.
In 10 days - The reunion begins to wind down as the first family leaves Ouray.
In 12 days - We'll wake up in the heat again, starting our first week with no one leaving for work.
In 14 days - Chorale again. Hey, are we starting over? Do we get to go to Ouray again? I guess not.

Time's Up
Let's start off with Bella decorating her Father's Day Card. Notice the style and technique she demonstrates. Check out her skill at lettering.
So, what time is up? My time at US Airways ends this Friday. The actual final day on the payroll should fall sometime while we are in Ouray and is still in discussion. However, there is more time up. Alison was released from JP Morgan Chase. She had been approved for vacation, but they decided that she couldn't go because someone with more seniority requested the same days. I pushed her into giving two weeks notice, but they walked her out the same day. I still think this was the right thing to do, but I am sorry for her and the way she was treated.
Any job possibilities found yet? Alison is leaning towards a job in education. I expect to have an interview for an HR position next week. Also, a company I worked with heard I was leaving and said they might want to talk to me. For both of us, we are also thinking about what training we can pursue that will make us more employable. We could be tight for a while, but we could end up finding a job that follows our passions. God will provide in all ways, and we will trust Him for guidance.

Apologies to Paul Anka and Frank Sinatra
And now, the end is near;
And so I face the final landing.
My friend, I'll say it clear,
I need a job, of that I’m certain.
I've worked a year that's full.
I've traveled many of our flight paths;
And more, much more than this,
I did it standby.
Yes, there were times, I'm sure you knew
When we got stuck, when no plane flew.
But through it all, when there was doubt,
I asked the agent to get us out.
I faced it all and I stood tall;
And did it standby.
I will be leaving US Airways around the end of June. I have applied for a job in HR in hopes of staying here, but I see it as a long shot. After all, I have little direct HR experience.
Am I worried? I suppose a little. It seems so easy to claim the promise of Philippians 4, but so hard to practice it. "Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus"

Sad Birthday Memories
I was looking through photos today and came across a sad memory. Yes, a big shindig was held for Isabella's birthday in March.
Three sets of grandparents were there, two sets of great-grandparents were there, and other related family. Some of those were from our side of the family. The sad part was, it was so crowded that we made the folks and Carey and Leigh stay in the hall. Here, you can see them trying to watch the fun and frivolity without entering the room. Still, that was an improvement from the first suggestion that they just wait in the car and we carry out some cake and punch after opening the gifts.

Sea World Take 2 (more photos)
What? You say you want more photos from Sea World? Well, guess what. I can oblige those requests. What? You say you DON'T want more photos. Well, it's my blog, so I'm putting up a couple anyway. Thanks for the dozens of comments on my last photos.
Anyway, here is a picture of Isabella looking styling in her whale hat. Nice, huh? Actually, this is from a tradition that Kyle and Lyndsay and friends have of trying on a hat in a store, taking a picture of themselves, then leaving without a purchase. So, they are passing the torch.
Here is a photo of Bella's dad, Kyle, before he shaved one morning. We had Lyndsay sneak in while he was in the tub. He certainly relaxes in the bath, huh? I'm not going to post a picture of him after shaving. You can look at Saturday's posting to see him if you want.
Hey, you can see some flower and water photos in the Vacation Memories link on the left. There is some older stuff there, too.
