Well, we did go the the Scottish Games yesterday at the local community college campus. The forecast called for only 66, so it was a little too cool in the shade and a little too warm and sunny in the sun. Here is a photo of a dude that reminded me of the famous scene by Marilyn Monroe in Seven Year Itch. What do you think? Can you see it?
Here is the most dangerous sport of the day. You can see that this girl is all concentration. You would be, too, if someone threw a giant stick at your head and you had to catch it. I think she can do it, but I do not have photographic evidence either way.
Here is my vision for Isabella in a few years. Actually, the complicated tongue maneuver is worth extra points, so I think she must have scored well on this.
Let's end with Bella watching the guitarist for NeedFire playing just for her. She is not sure she likes it, but the rest of us had fun. Still, I wish the groups played a little more of the Scottish-Irish-influenced music than just adding bagpipes to rock. Ah well.

Haggis Heaven
It's that time again! The Scottish Highland Games in lovely Mesa, AZ. Tomorrow and Sunday, although we ususally only go on Saturday. The last weekend in Feb every year. Dancers. Athletic events. Food that is not good for you. Sword fights, and that is in line for the food. Mini Coopers. Scottish goods for sale. Bagpipers and drummers everywhere.
This year, though, there is something special. It will be Isabella's first games. She should like seeing the young dancers. And the Scottish rockers might be fun for her, too. Mostly, though, she will like being outdoors and being wih Nana. Come to think of it, so will I.
This photo is of a dude trying to catch that 16 lb weight and balance it on his nose. Well, it might be a dude trying to fling the weight up over that bar. I can't actually remember. My favorite Scottish event is the caber toss. My favorite Scottish instrument is the bagpipe. My favorite Scottish food, at least at the games, is a meat pie with HP sauce. My favorite Scottish drink is not Scotch, it is Irn Bru ("made from girders."). My favorite Scottish castle is Stirling.
Aye, laddie.
I will be over this by Monday...I promise.

Tickling The Ivories
Isabella spent Saturday night with us. One of myriad exciting events for her was a piano lesson with Pops and Nana. She and family went to the zoo earlier in the day, but Pops was working.
Today was a holiday for teachers, so Kathie stayed home and cleaned house. I did not get a holiday. Work is crazy busy. US Airways is converting to a single reservations system next weekend, and the internal reservation system for employees that my team supports is part of this transition. This thing is honking big. Whew! Pray that we can get done what needs to happen. If the total change is delayed because my area is not ready, it will not be good.

Happy Valentine's Day
Well, we celebrated Valentine's Day in grand Walker style. That's right. I let Kathie pick where we'd eat tonight. Loving wife that she is, she picked Sonic. Ahh, memories of our date nights at Howard Payne. It was Sonic, Underwood's BBQ, Chicken on the Run (ask Kathie or the folks what we used to call that), or the pizza/sub place on Coggin Ave (I cannot remember that name). Mmm, extra long cheese coneys and tater tots.
You may have noticed a dearth of Bella photos recently. Durn tootin'. I took my camera over the last time we visited, but she was sick and I didn't get any pics. So, hopefully we can rectify that soon.
It's raining outside right now. I'll take that over the crazy weather up north.
No, I haven't finished my taxes yet. Yes, I am doing it myself using TurboTax. Don't worry. It'll be done in time. Are y'all finished?
Hey, check out Brandon Hardesty on youtube.com. I especially liked the Wallace Shawn scene from Princess Bride.
