22 Degrees?

No, not the ambient temperature right now. 22 degrees is the distance from the sun that a sun dog appears. Here, you can see the sun dog we saw on the left of the sun.

And here is the right one. Notice that you can also see part of the parhelic circle (no, I had never heard that word until I was working on the blog).

We will end the week's photo with a view of Chimney Rock near Owl Creek Pass. When I was looking up the link to share, I saw the article mentions John Wayne, True Grit, How the West Was Won, and this is an 1885 cattle trail. We all learned something today.

How can you not appreciate a cleverly worded announcement like this?

And another oddly-worded news story. I saw this last night on the news and mentioned my interpretation to MBH. Now, I will mention it to you. Can machetes shoot?

Speaking of misinterpreting things, who remembers Emily Litella? Whether you do or not, she is a character that misinterpreted news stories and backed down once she learned what the story was actually about. She makes a return in today's CoV.

Does your watch have any secret messages inside of it? Abraham Lincoln's did, and apparently from multiple sources. One even mentions Jeff Davis. It is a short read with several pictures so go to Mashable and read about it.

This is a cool-looking hack of an Ikea Expedit into a card catalog. It reminds me to be upset with Ikea for getting rid of the Expedit unit. However, you could still convert their Moppe drawers into an apothecary. Or the Lack shelf into an apothecary. Of course, I read about these things, but then leave the units in their original form. Still, it is nice to dream about.

I have for sure been dreaming about a weekend, and one is upon us. Let's get it started soon, OK?
