Back to the Mountains...In My Mind *UPDATED*

Whew, it is both hot and humid right now. Even at night, there is little break from this pattern. I know that I slept poorly last night. How about you? So, let's travel back (in our minds, at least) to our hike last weekend. You can see a cinder cone through the pines.

This being the direction we were hiking, I caught another shot of the same peak farther down the trail.

How about a lovely shot of the fall leaves on the aspen?

Wait a minute. You are correct that it isn't the fall yet. Maybe that is actually a photo of the painting in our room.

But speaking of storms, how much do you really know about lightning? Well, read this Yahoo! article and you will know the truth about some of the myths surrounding this natural phenomenon.

I use lumosity.com and their app to keep my mind sharp. I was wondering why, on both the browser version and the iPhone version, they have me do games 1, 2 and 5 and skip over 3 and 4. Can you imagine why? I think it is so that you will feel like you are missing something that you might want to pay for. I would notice that less if we did 1, 2 and 3 and then skipped 4 and 5. Pretty clever.

Remember when the early Star Trek movies came out and STNG (Star Trek: Next Generation) was still on? AT that time, it was popular to learn how to speak Klingon. In fact, there is a whole non-profit for it. Anyway, now thanks to the popularity of Game of Thrones, you can learn to speak Dothraki.

On August 20, I will have been a vegan for one year. So, how can I then evaluate its value to my future health? I don't really know. So, will I continue? If so (and right now, I am thinking I will in some capacity), will I remain as strict as I have been to date? Again, I don't really know. Stay tuned.

In honor of that milestone, however, let's look at a few high-calorie meals I will NOT be eating (no matter what happens on my diet choice). I do like Red Robin, but it wins the prize with a meal of over 3,500 calories. Whew!

Looks like the old ticker has run out. No, wait! I'm talking about the clock on the wall saying I need to get to work, not my heart. Sorry about that. Did that get your ticker going. I'm talking about your heart, not the clock. That's it. I'll be back tomorrow.

*UPDATE*
I forgot today's CoV. Sorry.
